Visiting North Beach Plantation With a Large Group: What to Expect

North Beach Plantation is a popular destination for groups, and no wonder! Between the amazing cottages at North Beach, where you can enjoy all the comforts of a private residence by the sea with luxury style and some extra amenities and the high end oceanfront towers, you’re sure to find something that’s perfect for a long and relaxing group vacation. That’s true whether you’re coming to North Myrtle Beach for a wedding, a family reunion or with a traveling sports team.

Mark Burlyn of North Beach Plantation said the most common question he gets about group trips is the question of discounts—if I come with a group, what kind of discounts are available? The short answer is that it depends.

Because the type of groups that come to North Beach Plantation are usually smaller—not large conferences, but smaller social groups who want to travel together—the resort does not usually block rooms. Instead, when the season and availability allow for a group discount, it will be set up for a time, allowing your guests to book their rooms and save.

“I try to give a discount off the best available rate based on how many rooms they estimate their group will need,” Mark said. “But depending on the time of year, there also may be restrictions we have to hold the group to. If a couple is looking to get married at the beginning of July, because of the high demand, anyone who books will have to stay for four to seven nights depending on the room type, and the discount’s not going to be very big.”

“Depending on the time of year, there will also be a booking cutoff to get that discounted rate. If a wedding is July 1, they’re likely to have a 60-day cutoff, and after that cutoff, everyone will be subject to the best available rate.”

While each event is different, a group coming in peak season may get 10% off the best available rate. However, if your event is going to be held in the off season, between Labor Day and Memorial Day (excluding holidays), you may get as much as 20% off for your group and minimum night requirements may be relaxed.
