Broadway at the Beach is famous for its attractions and retail stores, but all that fun and bargain hunting can work up an appetite when you spend all day riding and shopping your way around the 50-acre complex in Myrtle Beach.

Fortunately, Broadway at the Beach is also home to some of the top restaurants in Myrtle Beach, making it a great place to make a special trip for lunch or to refuel during your shopping spree. Here are the top 10 places to grab a bite to eat while beating the heat:

* Amici's Bistro: This hot spot offers a wide selection of Italian favorites, but Amici's is best known for its brick-oven pizza. In fact, they even added a second location at Broadway called Little Amici's to keep pace with demand.

* Chuck & Duck's Sports Grill: This new establishment has all the TVs and games you expect in a sports bar but with an extensive menu that you don't. Yes, Chuck & Duck's has the traditional sports-bar fare – chicken wings, nachos and beer – but also a lot of unique dishes and an outdoor patio deck.

* Hard Rock Cafe: The pyramid-shaped building at the end of Celebrity Square is a great place to take a lunch break. Chill out inside or on the patio deck and check out the music memorabilia and gift shop. Hard Rock has great burgers, salads and apps in a hip environment.

* Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville: The fictional island Buffett sang out actually exists in the Heroes Harbor section of Broadway at the Beach. Sit on the covered patio deck overlooking Lake Broadway and enjoy great seafood, sandwiches and, of course, margaritas.

* Joe's Crab Shack: Come as you are to this seafood shack that is about as casual as they come. If you are in the mood for crab legs, you are in luck. Joe's delivers big buckets of them to your table on the covered patio deck. Share the Lowcountry Boil by dumping out a bucket of shrimp, crab legs, sausage, potatoes and corn on the cob directly on your table.

* Johnny Rocket's: You can get a burger anywhere, but where else will your server serenade you at your table? This 1950s-themed diner not only boasts some of the best burgers, fries and milkshakes on the beach, but it also comes with song and dance from the staff.

* King Kong Sushi: Sushi for lunch? Absolutely, especially at King Kong, where the giant-sized namesake also applies to the sushi rolls. Prefer your seafood a little more on the done side? King Kong also serves hibachi and traditional Asian dishes. The back porch overlooking Lake Broadway offer a great view and lunch spot.

* Liberty Steakhouse & Brewery: The first restaurant to open in Broadway at the Beach nearly 20 years ago is still open and going strong thanks to an extensive menu full of flavor and an on-site brewery producing award-winning beers. If you are having a late lunch, Liberty also has the best happy hour deals in town.

* Senor Frogs: This Mexican and Caribbean-themed cantina offers great food and fun times for patrons. Known as a popular spring break hot spot in tropical locales, Senor Frogs opened its Broadway location and a more family-friendly environment, at least during daytime hours.

* Sweet Carolina's: You can smell this Southern-style smokehouse long before you see it. Slow-cooked barbecued pork and chicken over hickory coals sends out a tempting aroma that only gets better when you let it melt in your mouth. Enjoy Southern cooking and sweet tea for lunch.
