The Waccamaw Neck Bikeway

The Waccamaw Neck Bikeway is a flat, paved multipurpose path paralleling U.S. 17 from Murrells Inlet to Huntington Beach State Park. Though the path’s 12 miles aren’t contiguous, bikers can follow Share the Road routes between the completed sections of the path. Visitors will enjoy beautiful stretches that meander through pines, oaks and pristine wetlands. Those looking for a shorter ride can loop around the 3-mile section along the western border of Huntington Beach State Park for a total ride of 6 miles. Eventually, the bikeway will stretch 27 miles as a part of the East Coast Greenway.

The Market Common

The Market Common is an urban village community in Myrtle Beach boasting shopping, dining and residential buildings in one area. It’s also home to a fantastic 2-mile paved walking and biking path. Visitors enjoying a ride along the path can view the area’s lake and recreation fields before stopping for a bite to eat at a nearby restaurant. This path is great for families who prefer a short ride without the issues a nature path may pose.

Conway Riverwalk

This scenic walking and biking path runs along the Waccamaw River in downtown Conway. The serene trail offers views of the Waccamaw’s famous blackwater and marinas, as well as a magnificent arboretum featuring a variety of trees and plants. Conway is a historic river town — so bikers can admire the many buildings, homes, churches and other landmarks that contribute to Conway’s historic charm.

Horry County Bike & Run Park

Referred to as “The Hulk” by locals, this single-track mountain biking trail is located off River Oaks Drive in the Carolina Forest area. Not for the faint of heart, this 7-mile trail begins with a 30-foot hill climb before traversing terrain resembling the ups and downs of a wooden roller coaster. You don’t need superpowers to bike The Hulk, just a sense of adventure — and perhaps an extra water bottle. Those who decide to take on The Hulk will twist and turn across 72 acres of beautiful forest land.

Whether you prefer a relaxing ride by the water or an exciting mountain-biking trail, the perfect path is waiting for you in the Myrtle Beach area. And when your ride is done, there’s no better place to relax and recover than among the array of amenities found at The Cottages at North Beach Plantation.
