If you're going to be in North Myrtle Beach for the New Year, you can choose from a number of events and activities where you can raise a glass and toast the beginning of 2015. Plenty of parties will be taking place in bars and restaurants all over town — and even more in Myrtle Beach just to the south — but if you want to stay local, you are still sure to find a great event right in North Myrtle Beach.

Here are a few special events we thought you'd want to know about:

Barefoot Princess Riverboat

The Barefoot Princess Riverboat invites you to “sail”-ebrate the New Year with one of three special cruise options being offered for New Year's.

The New Year's Eve sightseeing cruise boards at 2 p.m. for a 90-minute excursion featuring music and narration. See the lovely Intracoastal Waterway from about this 64-foot, three-level riverboat.

The New Year's Eve dinner cruise boards at 5:30 for a lovely sunset cruise with buffet dinner, and entertainment provided by Grammy-nominated Johnny Cobb.

The New Year's Eve dance and dessert cruise board at 9:45 and will allow passengers to enjoy dessert and champagne at midnight. Music provided by Johnny Cobb.

House of Blues

The House of Blues in North Myrtle Beach offers two awesome New Year's parties to choose from. The New Years Eve 80's Dance Party with Rubix Kube is all all-ages event beginning at 8 p.m. It features Rubix Kube, the “most 'original' '80s tribute band of all time.” The band performs 80s classics, but isn't just a cover band, “it’s a totally awesome, true '80s EXPERIENCE!”

Or, there's the New Year's Eve Dinner and Dance featuring live music by Tru Sol, a six-piece band playing soulful renditions of classics from the Motown Era, 70's and 80's and present hip-hop and R&B. A four-course dinner is included, along with a champagne toast at midnight and party favors. Seating starts at 7 p.m.

Alabama Theater

It may be Christmas-themed, but this spectacular show at the Alabama Theater in Barefoot Landing would be a great way to celebrate the New Year.  Alabama Theatre's award-winning production “The South's Grandest Christmas Show” plays twice on New Year's Eve. This year's show combines talent, scenery and special effects sure to delight your family. Traditional Christmas classics and contemporary holiday favorites are included in the show, which is a Southern family tradition on the Grand Strand, with visitors and locals returning year after year. Also featured in this year's show will be comedian Ricky Mokel who always puts a new twist on the Christmas season. Show times are at 3 p.m. and 9:15 p.m.

Castano's Italian Steakhouse

North Myrtle Beach's most popular steakhouse plans its annual New Year's Eve party, a party that's bound to be as classy and cool as any you've attended recently. Join Castano's for a delicious gourmet dinner, plus a live band pulled right off the Vegas strip — it's the ultimate dinner and a dance.

Dinner items will include filet mignon and lobster, prime rib, Mediterranean flounder, lamb shanks, seafood pappardelle and much, much more. Party favors, a balloon drop and of course champagne will complete the evening. Classy, delicious fun.

Whatever you do to celebrate the New Year, just remember to have fun, be safe, and know that North Myrtle Beach will treat you right. Happy New Year!
