The NFL is hitting the home stretch, the NBA and NHL are scoring and skating, and the college football season is crossing over with college hoops. Sounds like the perfect time of year to plant your backside on a bar stool and watch all the action at once on multiple big-screen televisions. Let someone else pour you a cold beer and serve you a plate of hot wings while you try to digest five different sporting events at the same time. Here are the top five sports bars for game-watching in the Myrtle Beach area:

* Broadway Louie's: Whether you want to watch the games or participate in them, Broadway Louie’s has you covered. Located at Broadway at the Beach in the Celebrity Square club district, Broadway Louie’s is the largest sports bar on the entire Grand Strand. Divided down the middle between the sports-bar section and the video and game arcade, guests go back and forth between the two rooms to get their sports fix. Featuring large, flat-panel screens on the walls and smaller TV sets scattered throughout the facility, fans of all affiliations sport their team colors and pack this place to the rafters on big sports weekends. Featuring a full menu of bar food as well as main courses, and plenty of beer options to wash it all down, Broadway Louie’s is a great place for sports fans to slip off for a break while the rest of the family shops.

* Bumstead's Pub: Adjoining sister restaurant Dagwood Deli’s, home of the fattest sandwiches in town, this small English pub is also piled high with sports fans during the big games. Located in the heart of the downtown district, Bumstead’s offers excellent game-day food and drink specials. Perhaps the best features are the private booths with their own TVs and channel and volume controls, so you and your party can watch your game of choice. Bumstead's also offers a wide selection of draft and bottled beer, including a long list of imports and microbrews. In addition to the Dagwood’s sandwiches next door, guests can order from a full menu of bar food and main dishes. A dart board and ping-pong table are among the many bar games on site.

* Handley’s Pub: This English-style sports bar is a popular gathering spot for Europeans who have made their way across the Atlantic and for fans and students of nearby Coastal Carolina University, which has enjoyed some success on the sports fields and courts in recent years. Fans of the Chanticleers flock to see their No. 1-ranked FCS-level football team play, and the basketball and baseball teams have made the NCAA tournaments recently. But no matter who you cheer for, Handley’s has the game on a TV somewhere in the indoor/outdoor facility. The patio is a popular place for special events, such as the FIFA World Cup or the Olympics. Handley’s also has a wide imported beer selection and an excellent menu.

* Overtime Sports Cafe: Part sports bar, part sports museum, this two-story sports mecca is the best place to catch all the action for folks on the north end of the Grand Strand. Featuring plenty of seating at the spacious bar and multiple booths and tables upstairs and downstairs, Overtime ensures that every seat in the house has an angle at plenty of TVs. The open-air center of the restaurant allows patrons to see virtually games in all directions, and a sports memorabilia display lets guests see keepsakes from some of the all-time greats. The expansive menu is impressive, offering a wide selection of food and beverages.

* Pine Lakes Tavern: Formerly known as longtime local’s hangout Droopy’s, Pine Lakes Tavern has undergone a major makeover from top to bottom, front and back. That includes lots of TVs in the main bar area, more in the arcade and game room, and an expanded back patio deck. Billed as a gastro/sports pub, the food is unique to a sports bar but a refreshing change from the fried everything platters. The long bar is filled with craft beers and popular brands, and the view overlooking Pine Lake in the back is a great place to chill out and watch the games.
