The Hammock Shops in Pawleys Island is the perfect place to spend an afternoon—and it’s located only 4 miles from Litchfield Beach & Golf Resort. Take your pick from the specialty stores, boutiques and dining options. These shops were established in 1938 and every storefront has something unique to offer. Plus, the area is beautiful, with its Savannah-style brick walkways and ancient Spanish moss-strewn oaks … it all offers up a relaxed atmosphere that’s perfectly Pawleys.
One of our favorite stores to check out is the Lazy Fish—it’s a favorite of many locals and non-locals who visit The Hammock Shops. It is a perfect place to find something for the home, a special gift or a personal accessory. If you want to give your home that beachy look and feel, the shop offers one-of-a-kind home furnishings and wonderful wall art.
After you have finished shopping, stay and grab a bite to eat. BisQit is one of the newer restaurants in Pawleys Island, and it’s accumulating accolades as a perfect place to enjoy some delicious food with a southern twist. There’s a great happy hour from 4-7p.m with a variety of beers to choose from. As for dinner, we recommend trying out the smokehouse burger which comes with barbecue sauce, jalapeno bacon, pepper jack and smoked gouda cheese, pickles and is topped with a house-made onion ring. Be sure to save room for dessert, because the milkshakes are to die for! All milkshakes have a creative combination and can even come with a little kick just for the adults.
Once you have had enough shopping and dining take the time to relax and enjoy the beautiful area. Sit back and relax on an oak porch rocker or hang out in a hammock. The villages open are open Monday-Saturday from 10a.m to 6p.m and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. The Hammock Shops are a great place to spend an afternoon exploring the unique stores and tasting some delicious cuisine.
