The Grand Strand’s newest attraction is a must-do for adventure-seeking vacationers. Located only a short drive from North Beach Plantation, Greg Norman Jr.’s Shark Wake Park is a cable wakeboarding park — the first full-size cable water sports park in South Carolina, in fact.

Cable wakeboarding is a new addition to a lengthy list of action sports pursued throughout the world. It is thrilling and affordable because it is essentially wakeboarding without the need for a boat! The park’s goal is to build and operate the world’s best cable wake park, and it is striving to shine light on extreme water sports by bringing them to the masses.

You will definitely want to fit this activity into your schedule while enjoying your time at the beach. The best part about it is that no experience is required. All you have to do is show up at the park, and you are guaranteed to have an awesome day on the water! The park features a five-tower, full-size cable system and a two-tower cable system. This allows the park to provide one of the easiest systems to learn on while allowing advanced riders and pros to go as big as they like. Wakeboarding speeds range from 19 miles per hour to 42 miles per hour, and the park features a separate cable just for kids!

While exploring all that the park has to offer, don’t forget to check out the Shark Shack for snacks and beers! Additionally, lessons are available, and Ronix wake gear offers a “try it before your buy it” program at the park. Now, if you’re a family member or friend who just prefers to watch, a viewing deck allows spectators you to watch pros and beginners alike “shred” on the water.

This cable park, notable for being the tallest in the country, offers more than just wakeboarding, too. Visitors have the opportunity to wakebaord, water ski or kneeboard! And if one day just isn’t enough for you, check out the multi-day ticket options so you can keep the fun in the sun going all week!

Few activities are as fun and refreshing as those available at Shark Wake Park. After relaxing poolside at North Beach Plantation and adventuring along the shore, take your thrill and excitement to the newest hot spot along the coast.

The Shark Wake Park is located in the North Myrtle Beach Sports Complex. The complex is home to eight soccer and lacrosse fields, six baseball and softball fields, dog parks for both large and small dogs, an amphitheater, walking and biking trails, playgrounds, picnic shelters, and even a ropes course — Go Ape Treetop Adventure.  With so much to do at the sports complex and with such close proximity to North Beach Plantation, you can really plan to spend a day here before returning to your room to relax and recuperate.
