There are many benefits to staying at the Dunes Village Resort for your Myrtle Beach vacation, from our great oceanfront location to our indoor water park to our giant lazy river, but the action-packed, year-round kids club is another big perk.

“Everything is really family friendly,” said Kayla Mahoney, activities director at Dunes Village. “A lot of families come and do the activities together.”

At Dunes Village, the kids club runs every day of the year, with the lone exception of Christmas. “We have face painting or temporary tattoos every single day, and all the other things are mix-and-match. We might have movies outside, or painting crafts with wood or seashells, sand art or tie dyed T-shirts. The tie dyed T-shirts are actually our most popular craft.”

Most of the kids’ club activities are free, though some have minimal expenses for supplies. The most expensive is the T-shirt tie-dye activity at $9.

“It’s very reasonable for families,” Mahoney said. “We also do outdoor activities, such as extra-extra-large volleyball, duck races in the pools or the lazy river and miniature golf tournaments on our 9-hole mini golf course.”

Throughout the year, there are also special events for families. There’s a big grill-out for Memorial Day weekend with games such as sack races; photos with Santa for Christmas; and a giant, 6,500 egg Easter egg hunt in the spring.

To find out what’s happening while you’re visiting Dunes Village, check with the front desk or the activity area. Most activities can be dropped in on with no sign up, but for events and games such as the whipped cream eating contest, be sure to show up on time in order to participate. Most events take place at the activity area inside the Palmetto Water Park. When the weather is good, many activities will move outside to the pool deck.

Also keep an eye out for special events on Saturdays called “Super Saturday.” “We have a live D.J., games and contest on the pool deck from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“It’s really fun,” Mahoney said.

With so much fun and so many events happening at Dunes Village, you and your family are sure to have a great time on your next Myrtle Beach vacation—so make your plans to come visit now!
