The North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex is a beautiful multi-use facility that is home to a range of different events throughout the year, from concerts to athletic tournaments.

The complex has eight regulation soccer fields, four regulation youth baseball/collegiate softball fields and two high school/collegiate baseball fields that can be converted to youth baseball/collegiate softball fields based on demand, as well as batting cages and a 25-acre lake for outdoor boating and water activities.

With a facility like this, you can bet that the complex plays host to all kinds of athletic events and tournaments. This fall, there are camps and teams available for all ages, peewee through adult, in tackle football, soccer, softball, baseball and lacrosse. Among other events, a fastpitch softball tournament and a YMCA youth soccer tournament will also be held at the facility in the coming months.

The indoor facilities are just as impressive. The community center boasts several full-size gyms for volleyball and basketball, as well as a pool where swim programs are offered.

For the more casual athlete, the complex offers three different walking trails of varying lengths, from the .6-mile Carolina Bay Trail to the 1.1-mile Fitness Trail. There is also an access point to the North Myrtle Beach Nature Trail.

The Sports Complex is also a great venue for big events like family reunions, team get-togethers or even large business conferences. There are a variety of shelters and conference rooms available for rent, as well as an amphitheater, a 10-acre meadow and an outdoor plaza. Several of the shelters have grilling facilities included, while others offer proximity to the athletic fields. All of the shelters are situated with full playgrounds close by, so children will have an easily supervised area for playing and working out some of that youthful energy.

The recreational opportunities at the Sports Complex are not reserved solely for humans — the facility is also home to the Waggin’ Tails Dog Park! The dog park is a safe, fenced-in area where your dog can have some unleashed fun. Waggin’ Tails includes separate fenced areas for small dogs (under 25 pounds) and another for larger dogs, and it is open every day from 6:30 a.m. until sundown.

Can’t get out to the park to watch the event you’d like to see? Don’t worry, they’ve got you covered! Events taking place on the fields or the lake are streamed live and can be watched free of charge on the Sports Complex’s website.

The North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex is easily accessible via a 17-minute drive from North Beach Plantation. Whether you’re planning a family gathering, traveling with a child for an athletic competition in Myrtle Beach or you just want to get outside and enjoy the beautiful fall weather, North Beach Plantation and the North Myrtle Beach Park and Sports Complex are a perfect combination!
